Batteries can and do emit gas and if you get a spark while connecting the cable to the negative terminal the close proximity to the gas can result in a battery exploding in your face. Generally, you only make this mistake once. This can either be side-by-side or hood to hood. Just make sure they are close enough for the cables to reach both. Take out the cables and make sure to never touch the ends to each other at any time. First work with the running vehicle.

Dec 08, · Gauge is the autometer electric boost/vac gauge. Just figured out tonight that the gauge is the electric one and I managed to find the map sensor under the hood that the vacuum line hooks up to. Guessing that I just hook the vacuum line that goes to the glove box to the sensor??
First, I would like for you to check the ICP sensor for the presence of oil in its connector. This is a 3 wire sensor in the driver side head, up near the front and it points almost at the fuel filter. Just unplug it and look for oil in the cavity of the sensor. The sensor is located in the front of the engine , almost in the center. It is right next to the heater hose that goes into the water pump , towards the passenger side.
The sensor has 3 wires in its connector and is mounted on a flange on the end of a tube. Remove the sensor, and start the truck. You will be checking to see if exhaust gases flow through the tube.

Looking through the Internet you can mostly observe watered down information, something like bla bla bla, but not here to my deep surprise.
This is what I’m currently using. The intercooler plumbing is nothing more then 2′ 1/4 exhaust pipe. “A” is the 5’th injector (a cold start injector from a Saab), “B” is an adjustable 6’th injector using a NOS fuel solenoid and a fan spray nozzle.
To fit in a A-pillar pod, the studs and threaded boost fitting must be shortened. Included in our kit is 6 feet of wiring and the necessary connectors to hook up the gauge back lighting. Also included is a tee fitting and pressure hose. Tap the boost gauge hose into the hose that runs from the intake manifold to the solenoid that controls the fuel pressure regulator. Remove the double-ended hose connector on the bottom hose of the solenoid and install the tee in its place.
Some prefer connecting to the “P” fitting on the throttle body. Using this connection will not show vacuum on the gauge. The reasoning behind going to the P fitting is that by connecting to the fuel pressure regulator, you run the risk of loosing pressure to the regulator should something happen to the boost gauge hose. The solution is doing a nice job of connecting the hose and keeping it safe.
By connecting to the regulator, you will be able to see if the regulator is getting pressure. Nothing showing on the gauge, means nothing getting to the regulator. With the hose connected to the P fitting, you could loose pressure to the regulator and never know.
